After recently posting a thread on the forum in praise of Li Na, and having asked Achelle to write an article about Li Na to tell everyone about her, which heaped more praise upon her, in the eMagazine titled “Big Sister Na,” Li Na, China’s Strong, Unbending, and Unyielding Role Model, it came as a bit of a rude shock to have my wife point out a recent news item on the Chinese internet in which seems to disclose a different Li Na.
Apparently Li Na arrived to a waiting throng of people when she disembarked her flight in Wuhan, China. Besides countless fans and children trying to give her flowers and showering applause on her, there was also lined up to welcome her home some officials of Hubei Province to hand her a bonus being gifted by the Province to honor her victory, as well as her Chinese coach from her time within the China Sports program. To make a long story short, according to this version of what happened she basically rudely snubbed everybody present, and was the opposite person to the one who made such a glowing victory speech at the Australian Open.
I'm not saying the above story is true, but there it was on the net being presented by what seemed to be a credible Chinese website. I'm actually writing this thread in hopes the Chinese ladies, and especially those from Wuhan, can tell us what really happened, and if it was as rude as reported, why they think Li Na was so different on that occasion?
Finally, please comment on which Li Na is the real one? The one who wowed us all with her gracious good humour and warm smile in Australia, or the one who offended a large number of people in Wuhan?
I'm really pulling for the Australian Open Li Na!
