Well-rounded thoughts!

I am not making any further comments on the flat earth blog. However, I still need to ask a question of Imi,  @Imi5922. Why did you post this link for me?

I am guessing that you are just sharing with someone you know will appreciate it the same way you did.

I have always liked this experiment because it is so easy to carry out but the explanation is definitely beyond the third grader shown in the video. Water is made up of H2O molecules.  H2O is a V-shaped molecule where one oxygen atom is bonded to two separate hygrogen atoms. The oxygen atom attracts the electrons in each bond more stongly than the hydrogen atom. This results in a  partial negative charge on the oxygen atom and a partial positive charge on each hydrogen atom.

If you bring a positively charged object near a fine stream of falling water,  attraction occurs.

If you bring a negatively charged object near a fine stream of falling water, attraction also occurs.

This is a simple experiment is used in Chemisty to demonstrate that H2O is a polar molecule.

If the experiment is repeated with a liquid made up of non-polar molecules, no attraction occurs.

"I am guessing that you are just sharing with someone you know will appreciate it the same way you did."

Yes, that was my intention.

The quickest way to end the nonsense is to stop commenting on baseless ideas and claims. So today, I posted my last comment on it to Barry and follow a much smarter man example and keep my thoughts to myself.

@JohnAbbot You asked for my feedback on your use of science on another blog. I have to say that I was impressed with your use of science. It is disappointing that most members of the public including some with Science degrees don't even go close to how well you express yourself with the scientific concepts of physics.

I recently came across an exchange on the internet between two American Physics professors. One was disappointed that doctors did not work scientifically enough even though they technically had a science degree. At his university, he had noticed that law students in his course on average achieved higher Physics grades than students studying to become a doctor. The other professor confirmed that he had experienced similar results with his students.

Until I witnessed that exchange I would have assumed that doctors would have been better than lawyers at understanding the scientific concepts of Physics. Now my view has changed and John, your use of physics further supports their claims.

@JohnAbbot

It is very difficult for me to post a comment when I don't have my laptop available. I did this post using my partner's "Chinese" computer and I had to rush. Either I or the dog on my lap must have bumped the Anonymous button. Could you please change this thread to read "melcyan" instead of "Anonymous1680".

Imi, I can fully empathize with your frustration.

I just read your last scientific comment to Barry on the blog of never-ending silliness. I was impressed! I hope I didn’t miss any of your other comments. You did not waste your time writing it. It gave me great hope to realize that there are people like you in the world who value thinking scientifically.

There are a lot of us out there who think like you and me. Don't give up hope because of one mad dog in a pack of dogs.

Imi, you are a highly principled person. Any observant person can see that. If someone tries to put you down, you need to recognise that their putdown says much more about them than it does about you. A response to an unwarranted and uninformed put down is not always necessary.

HI, what topic are you talking about? Where is the flat earth blog?

Thanks, Melcyan. Good advice. I'll keep that in mind in the future.

I owe you an apology. When I wrote the words "flat earth blog", I was referring to the "U.S. Presidential Race and Global Affairs" blog by Barry. I was too lazy to write the full title.

I started this forum thread after I had decided to make no further comment on the "U.S. Presidential Race and Global Affairs" blog. Starting this forum thread allowed me to finish my comments to Imi and John.

As a Chinese woman are you willing to tell us how you felt about the "U.S. Presidential Race and Global Affairs" blog. Did you read it? What was your reaction?

@melcyan Sorry, I have not read the "U.S. Presidential Race and Global Affairs" blog in detail yet; moreover I don't know politics, I cantn't give any reaction about this.

@melcyan

You're pretty much a bunch of fools. You beLIEve everything you see on TV

NASA cannot show us a PHOTO of the Earth - yet they can show us 'photos' of Mars

By their own admittance they have 'lost' the original moon landing footage

By their own admittance they cannot send humans through the 'Van Allen Belt' (even today)

By their own admittance, ALL images of the Earth MUST be CGI (Computer Generated Images)

Meanwhile they continue to propogate their ficticious 'war-on-terror' that was started on 9/11 by the BS that Bush orchestrated, and their BS 'Global warming'

All the time they are manipulating the weather, creating hurricanes and earthquakes, and you idiots are too blinded by your I-phone and FaceBook to see what is REALLY going on !

I'm not going to put links here - do your OWN research (like I have)

The sooner you wake up and realise that EVERYTHING we've been taught is a lie, the better you will feel !
