Moving Goods Australia to China

Re:  Movement of Goods - Australia to regional China

I wonder if anyone here can recommend a company that can move personal  effects from Australia to the more remote areas of China in a reasonably cost effective manner.

The Australian post office has an overseas freight service but it caters for small parcels only.

Large companies such as DHL cannot do the job, as they don't service the country areas of China, away from the major towns.  I  need a company that can deliver to a regional area.  Away from the tall highrises of Shanghai, Nanjing or Beijing.

Thank you for your time.

Thanks heaps for this information, Andrew.

I'm heading over to China for a while in a few weeks and am making some preliminary preparations right now. So information about freight movement companies that are reliable and don't rip you off is valuable stuff indeed.

Cheers mate. (beer)(beer)(beer)

Just as an update Andrew, I contacted Ming Young as you suggested. They have offices in both Melbourne and Sydney but unfortunately none in Brisbane.

The packages I have to send are around 10 to 20kgs each, so if you think the other company or companies that you mentioned may be of help, please let me know and I'll give them a call.

Cheers mate. (beer)

ok mate only Ark has a Brissy office try them. or oppion B...go down to any asian occupied area near you take a walk down the street and you will find "chinese gift shops" selling vitamins and such. most of these shops are freight outlets. you should also be aware most freight takes two weeks min, and if chinese customs opens it longer, and not all may be put back. last handy hint for you get Tina to write the intended address in chinese so you can show the freight agent. all the best mate........P.s. if you write about your next trip can you post the abridged version first. hope I've been of some help. Cheers

@roughdiamond

Thanks for this information, Andrew. What you've told me makes darn good sense.

As for your comment, "if you write about your next trip can you post the abridged version first", I can barely even think about writing about my next trip as I still haven't finished describing my last trip, which was well over a year ago now. It may be finally finished sometime around late 2019, by latest estimates.

So the blog concerning the next trip that'll be commencing in early September, may see first publication around early 2020, with a completion date around 2025 or possibly early 2026. I bet you can barely wait for it! (dance)(beer)8) :D
