LiNa Wins the Aussie Open and the Hearts of the World

Besides putting on a great show of athletic talent on her path through the Australian Open en route to becoming the first Chinese person to ever win this Grand Slam tennis event, she also did something even more important. She won the hearts of the world with her poise, grace and wonderful sense of humour. China, and Chinese women, could hardly ask for a better ambassador than LiNa. She has done you all proud. She is one great Chinese lady.

We are happy for LiNa and for China. We were so used to see just Europeans and North Americans win these tennis matches. Even on this sport China is starting to shine. Minxian and I are happy for her victory. Long live China and the Chinese people. Good for you LiNa, well done!!!!

Wuhan government just announced to award Li Na 800,000 RMB as the reward of the honor that she brings to Wuhan.

As I remember, there is another sportswomen also from Wuhan who won the champion in the worldwide competition... is Fu Mingxia, the Diving Champion? and anyone else from Wuhan?

ja, stimmt. well, she could have touched even more hearts if she could have mentioned a little more about her motherland -- China. even her competitor spoke about her homeland, which indicated she at least is grateful for and not yet forget where her talent comes from..
