Hmmm. Well, I have spent a good amount of time in Thailand. It seems that both Thai women and Chinese women family is of utmost importance. Perhaps the obligation to support the parents is a little stronger in Chinese culture. Perhaps the Thai woman will often have brothers and sisters to help with the process while the Chinese woman is often an only child. But the importance of the family--especially the obligation of child to parent--plays an role in the Thai woman's life that it does not in the life of most Western women. And I think you have to understand this when dating Thai women as well as Chinese women. I think this holds for other Asian cultures as well.
