The End Of Our Relationship Part 17 - Wayward Prince

He may not have been Clive Owen, but he was still my knight.

In Stuttgart, I rushed my steps to get out of the train station, thinking that my dear prince must be waiting for me on his black horse.

Then I saw an Asian woman, dragging a suitcase with one hand, three big paper bags in the other, and a back bag on her back, hardly moving her legs to get down the stairs.

I stopped in front of her and asked in English, Can I help you? Not sure she was Chinese woman or Japanese or Korean.

I took two paper bags from her, she kept thanking me for my help. Then I got to know that she was from Shanghai China, was sent here for training in the headquarter company in Germany. It made me sad again that I didn’t accept the job offer from company G, otherwise I might have also had the chance to be here to stay a while longer with H.

There was a cross, I would go straight while the girl should turn left to catch another train. Seeing so many steep stairs ahead of her, I could not just leave her alone there to fight against her bags and the stairs. So I insisted to send her right to the platform. The girl again thanked me a hundred times.

There were two staff in uniform standing on the hallway and talking. I asked one of them if I could leave my suitcase there and he put one eye on it, and I would be back in 5 minutes. Because I would have to climb up all those steps and it could possibly break my back if I carried it all the way up.

Got the girl to the platform, we hugged for good-bye, it’s really cordial and sweet seeing a face of same skin color on the land of another country.

I was slipping and slithering back and out, thought that H must be worrying. But if I told him that I was trying to help a Chinese girl, I bet he would kiss me for I did the right thing.

The moment when I got out of the station, only found myself crumbled: H was nowhere to be seen.

我停下来,用英语问,Can I help you? 因为不能确定她是中国人还是日本或韩国人。

Interesting choice of description when you wrote "thinking that my dear prince must be waiting for me on his black horse"...doesn't the hero ride a white horse? Heroes always wear white and the villain wears black? Maybe that was only in my generation's time...and only in the US. Or maybe you were foreshadowing that this guy is indeed a villain...

so much talent in your telling your story. Engages the reader from the tenderness and truth of the genuine heart you surely have. There is an angel among us, and now I know of at least two ;)

We call this a "cliff-hanger". I hope he is in the bathroom, looking for you diligently, or waiting outside? He better have a great excuse or at least be having a drink in the airport restaurant waiting for your phone call.

I think it is too soon for others to pass judgement on him.

Him allowing you to pay your own flight is something I also struggled with and really felt badly about but in my case it is still my ex-girlfriend and it is away to preserve our relationship allowing me to keep travel money for China.

I am almost inspired enough by your blog to write my own. A major difference (or maybe similarity?) is that I am not yet sure how mine will end yet. My ex-girlfriend will land in Canada in two weeks at the end of this month. In my heart, I am already waiting for her at the airport.
