The Blue Apple - Part 1

By Paul Fox

Have apples always been blue, and we just spent our lives mistakenly believing they were red? What say you?

Nelson Mandela apparently said words to the effect of - 'There's nothing like going back to a place that's never changed in order to realise how much you have altered'

If Mr Mandela were alive today, there's a whole heap of people who'd like to switch that around and say - 'There's nothing like going back to a place that's altered in order to realise how much you have NOT changed'

What IS 'reality'? Don't run away just yet......I'm not going to go all 'David Icke' on you!

Look at what you are doing right now.......

Reading a blog on an online Chinese dating site that appears in a virtual world on a technological bit of plastic and glass.

Next time you go outside into your 'real world', look around you. Look at all the people glued permanently to their mobile phone screen. Unbelievably, the Chinese have actually created a footpath designated to people who have their gazes firmly fixed to their mobile phone.

What we once accepted as being 'reality' has become so deeply entrenched in a virtual reality that we perceive that virtual reality as being, well....'real' reality.....and so the cycle continues.

If anyone has seen the absolutely superb Katy Perry video to her song 'Chained to the rythym' then they should be fully aware of what I am talking about. People cannot see what is going on around them because they spend every second of their free time checking their social media on what we still, laughingly, call a mobile PHONE.

When you break it down, there is no such thing as 'reality' - it's gone! Everyone perceives what THEY consider to be reality in a different way, mostly dependent on who's posted the latest 'interesting' topic on Facebook or other 'social media'.

Not only that, but a person's perception of a collective reality greatly differs too. For example, what would happen to you in Britain, America, Australia, Canada, etc, if you decided to go 'walkabout' in your pyjamas? The last time I looked, you'd be picked up by the men-in-the-white-coats, yet in China, it's quite 'normal' to go shopping in your sleepwear.

One of my colleagues was recently explaining to some 18-19 year-old Chinese students the concept of an 'open marriage' and 'FWB' (friends-with-benefits). My God ! They just about shit themselves!

What is 'normal reality' for one, is unbelievable 'reality' to another.

I'm in danger of digressing into so many different areas that it's difficult to stay focused, but let me throw in just ONE example to highlight the abnormality of what we all perceive to be 'reality'.

Bill Clinton was impeached for playing 'hide-the-sausage' with a Whitehouse intern.

Many people simply do NOT believe the official story of 9/11, and whilst there is an amazing amount of proof that shatters the 'official story', it'll NEVER end up in court, just like Hillary won't; the 'Podesta pedophile ring' won't; George Bush senior won't ever be charged with the orchestration of the assassination of JFK...........the list goes on...Our 'reality' of believing that Trump will 'drain-the-swamp' is futile when Trump himself appears to be standing in the same 'swamp' that he said he would 'drain....but I digress.....

My first question is this - Why do people get called 'conspiracy theorists' yet people that delve into the area of 'quantum theory' are called 'scientists' or 'physicists'?

I have often been called a 'conspiracy theorist' and my reply has always been that I am a 'conspiracy analyst'................. Show me the evidence!

"Charity begins at home - the Bible says so!"

Really? Where? Show me! (It doesn't......)

I can't believe in a 'God' because I can't see one! The Bible has been edited so many times that it's not funny. The story of "Jesus' and 'Moses' and 'Noah' are like watching 'Groundhog Day'.... Follow these stories back in time and you'll find that they all a regurgitation of the same story - all the way back to the Sumerians....It really IS a case of 'Same shit, Different day!'

The subject of 'Quantum Theory' is just that - a THEORY.

It is one of the hardest things to explain - and I am certainly no expert - but in a nutshell, it means this -

Right now, as you read this blog, you made a CHOICE to do so.

In a 'parallel universe', you didn't. In another 'parallel universe' you never even joined a Chinese Dating website - in fact, every decision you ever made in your life was made by 'another you' in another 'parallel universe' who made a different decision.

Perhaps you had never been born. Perhaps you had never had any interest at all in Chinese women.....?

Perhaps my Dad never even went to the party where he slipped rohypnol into my mother's white wine spritza and ended up with me.....(joking)

There's a movie about this called 'Coherence' - it's low-budget but DEFINITELY worth watching!

However, this 'quantum' stuff is not proven so it remains a THEORY - yet the people who perpetrate this 'theory' are called 'scientists' or 'physicists' - give me a break!

( Allegedly there is a quantum computer called 'D-Wave' that we should all be scared shitless of.......if it's true!)

The title of this blog is 'The Blue Apple'. It's deliberately named due to something that happened to me quite recently. It scared the living daylights out of me.

Living alone, here in China, I had no-one to whom I could look to for support. Sure, I have friends, but none of them could even BEGIN to relate to what was happening to me. I was scared...... No.....I was petrified!

Whilst at my tender age of 55, people who have known me for many years would consider me to be quite 'level-headed', 'intelligent', (well, not stupid....), honest, reliable, straight-shooting, and not easily fooled.

Yet here I was.....feeling as helpless as a new-born baby whose mother had died giving birth to me.....

I'll tell you more in part 2 because this is going to be extremely difficult to craft into words, and I'm not even sure where I am going with this in order to stay away from digressing, but for now I want your gut reaction to the following scenario.....

I'm going to draw a parallel.

Imagine this.......

You wake up tomorrow morning to find the apples in your fruit bowl are blue.

No-one else seems to notice....only you!

You look (obviously) surprised, so you ask the question, only to be told that apples have ALWAYS been blue.

In disbelief you run to the local fruit-store; supermarket; market....only to find that ALL the apples you see are different shades of blue.

You don't know where to run.....who to ask.....are you crazy.....?

Even when you pluck up the courage to ask your close friends and family, the answer is always the same....YOU are 'crazy' because 'everyone knows' that apples have ALWAYS been blue!

My question is simple......

Apart from the obvious, (checking the Internet, etc), what would you do?

How would you react?

Everyone is telling you that apples have ALWAYS been blue and that green apples and red apples are a figment of your imagination.....

Help me out here......what would you SAY/DO?................

Oh, please understand.............I've NOT gone 'mad'.... far from it.....

It was an incredibly tough couple of weeks going through what I went through. I've not 'found God' (quite the opposite, in fact), and I am certainly not 'crazy'.

Please.....look at my question quite literally....What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning to find that ALL apples have ALWAYS been blue......?

If I wake up tomorrow to discover that Apples are, and have always been, blue, I will assume that I have just accidentally slipped into an alternate dimension. And I will also assume that there must be a way back to my old dimension, and will start looking for it immediately.

I will also seek a pharmacy in the new dimension I find myself in, to see what it might take to get my hands on some good ativan in my new dimension as that might allow me to hang onto my sanity for a few days longer.

Wrong answer???

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning to find that ALL apples have ALWAYS been blue......?

If this occurred Paul, I'd start seriously questioning my sanity.

This situation is faced every day by people with certain types of mental problems, such as schizophrenics who might hear voices in their heads or they sometimes see apparitions demanding that they go and do something, such as driving a car onto a footpath and mowing down as many people as they can or whatever.

In other words, ONE answer to your question is mental pychosis or delusionment.

Another answer may be that there are indeed parallel dimensions, which I believe in.  I'm in good company, many learned academics such as Professor Stephen Hawking believe the same thing.

Another answer is the philosophical idea that nothing exists, except for consciousness.  So whether apples are red, green, blue or polka dot is irrelevant, because they don't exist!  Don't scoff, whole books have been penned about this puzzling theory, which is incredibly interesting, the further one delves into it.

Yet another answer may be as simple as the fact that you've suddenly gone colour blind.  In other words, a medical situation has unexpectedly happened to you.  So you'd need to get your vision checked, to eliminate this possibility.

To conclude, as you can see Paul, there is no one answer to your question.  There are several equally valid scenarios to explain the conumdrum.  Please don't become unduly confused or perturbed by it all.  :^)
