Barry from Australia is a questioning soul who looks at social issues from an alternative point of view and instead of asking, “Why?”, he asks “Why not?” He’s convinced that many of his previous incarnations were spent in China. He feels drawn to the people there; attracted by their rich culture and way of life. If given one wish from God, he’d reply, “I want everyone on Earth to be the same colour, speak the same language, and treat each other as they themselves would like to be treated.”

@loveF
(party)

@Barry1

I reckon any person - either man or woman - who is so narrow minded or parochial that they would look down upon or criticise - a person for being an omnivore, is most likely a person best avoided.

Sorry Barry, the Devil made me say it.

@destiny1

"eat more meat, I'll feel a little sick"

It's interesting that after a while of being a vegetarian, one can actually feel a little ill if one does actually eat meat. It doesn't happen to me, but a friend of mine used to almost vomit, if ever she inadvertently ate any meat.

As a general rule - let me say this again - my belief is that if you looked at say, one thousand vegetarians and compared them to an equal number of meat eaters, the vegetarian group as a whole would score more highly in psychological tests of compassion and kindness. This is not to say that if you eat meat, you're not also compassionate and kind, I'm just saying that vegetarians as a general rule would be more so.

Well done, Destiny1. :)

@HZDX6167

"if we can go to slaughterhouses and farms to see those poor animals, really there is no way to eat the flesh of animals"

This is exactly correct, HZDX167.

As a teenager, I used to live near an abbatoir where cows, pigs and sheep were killed. I often could hear the animals screaming in terror. The barbarism of this seemed enormous. These horrific scenes no doubt subconsciously played out in my mind over the next few years, until when in 1982 I finally decided to stop eating red and white meat.

You also said

"the human body is naturally designed for vegetarian......... Leo Tolstoy once said, as long as there are slaughterhouses there will be battlefields"

Your words are extremely true. Whole books could be written on the benefits of vegetarianism. Hopefully our words here may help make people think about this issue. If this occurs, then our words here have not been wasted.

Well done indeed, HZDX6167. (clap)

wow......

@anonymous12417

"wow"

I agree with you, Anon12417 - the benefits of vegetarianism do tend to make us all go "Wow!", don't they. (clap)
