A retired Aussie programmer from Sydney, I am an ardent traveller, student of things Chinese, and in retirement both an online teacher and online MOOC student. I write mostly about travel and experiences in China, and of interaction with Asian culture and people. Don’t expect controversy because, like a cat in a puddle, I tread carefully - but sometimes I just might throw in a ‘googly’!

She forgetting is not for the getting and gained ungained remains tangibly untouchable punctiliously tactile and, re birthing, rebirthing remains remote and evermore, ah nevernore cried the once ravenous raven now crow and shall remain altogether unbegotten unbegettable. begone!

@oldghost

We learn to spell

A spell is a curse (and we use cursive writing)

A curse is to swear

We swear an oath

An oath is a promise

A promise is a vow

We use vow-Els (A E I O U Y)

'El' is a 'god' (One of which is Æ / EA)

We write our vowELs

A (w) rite is a ritual

Æ I O U Y = 'God, I owe you, why?'

Should I continue?

@paulfox1

The human brain has an insane ability to find patterns or connections in almost anything. That does not necessarily mean that the pattern or connection is meaningful. Should you continue? No.

@melcyan

Should I be surprised at your reaction to my comment? No.

You continue to bury your head in the 'sand' my friend.

English was constructed / invented in the 16th C. It almost totally revolves around commerce, water, and energy (power).

It has nothing to do with my brain (or anyone else's) finding patterns that are 'not there'. It's a deliberate act and the patterns were put there on purpose.

(Oh, and this is admitted, so please don't go calling me a 'C.T')
