@prana

Thanks for sharing these lovely pictures with us, Annie.

Possessing such an ancient culture, China is a fascinating country to visit. Some of the sights seen there are incredibly beautiful, as shown here.

The marriage couple in the above photo look to be so young, almost like teenagers. Or do they look to be so youthful only because I'm getting so old? (giggle)

I heard other good news these past few days on the radio here about China. It was reported that due to increasing public pressures and outcries, companies there that flout pollution laws will be fined more heavily than ever before. Penalties for polluters will be increased. This is good news indeed.

A cleaner China will be better not only for the Chinese, but for the whole world as well, given its increasing size and dominance in global trade. Great stuff.

A country places s greatest
The moral the level of
From its animals are treated manner to judge.

I do not know how to translate Gandhi's famous words.
Thank you for your concerned China's ecological environment.
China's natural environment,
In before 1988
How beautiful,
Fresh and!
Unfortunately, now, those of greed the merchants, they do is die without descendants things that!
Unfortunately,
The current Chinese education system in, stress is placed scores, not public morality.
I hate to some of the Chinese people.
Some people say,
monkeys fewer and fewer
because most of the the monkeys evolved into humans
Some Chinese people is probably: Human coat,
monkeys' behavior ......

Hello Prana.

Thank you for reminding us of Gandhi's wise words:

"The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

For those who don't know, this reminds me of a blog article I wrote, that can be seen here.

http://blog.chinalovematch.net/blog/article/Dogs-and-Cats-in-China-Cause-for-Concern-in-Some-Sections

I had to laugh when you wrote,

"Some people say,
monkeys are fewer and fewer
because most of the the monkeys evolved into humans"

Yes indeed, many of the so called humans out there act just like apes - in some cases, much worse than them, in fact.

I actually hope to see some real life monkeys at the end of next month. I'm flying in to Chengdu then travelling to and climbing to the top of Mt Emei. I've been told there are a bunch of mischievous monkeys up there who'll jump onto your backpack if they detect a nice smell of food from there! (heidy)

I've also been told to carry a little stick with me, in case a lady monkey mistakes me for a male one! :D

Chengdu is a nice place, but I do not like it,
There, it very bad air quality

Emei Mountain is a good place, worth a visit.
Emei Mountain monkeys are mischievous point, but it will not shelter you,
Because they are afraid of Chengdu crush their, crush their give them to eat chili, ha ha ha ha ha ............

@prana

Thank you for your thoughts, Prana. (y)

Though please call me Barry - saying Mr Barry is too formal for friends such as us.

I agree that many cities in China are too polluted, included Chengdu. This is one reason why I'll be heading to the Emei region, in order to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities.

It gave me a laugh when you mentioned the monkeys on Mt Emei didn't like chilli - I'll tell this to my friend in case she wants to carry some, to ward off the cheeky monkeys!

My friend has also told me to carry two pairs of walking shoes as it often rains there in summer. She's also told me that she's very fit and healthy and I had better keep up with her, as she hikes determinably up the mountain! (muscle)

Chengdu Each year a different of climate.
Sometimes heavy rainfall,
The air is humid, it is easy to get sick.
Sometimes drought,
People can not stand the heat ......
You can also buy some clothes and shoes in Chengdu.
Now the weather that they please, TV stations weather forecasts are prone to error.
Remember the mountaineering pay attention to security.

@prana

"Remember the mountaineering pay attention to security."

Thanks for this, Prana.

My friend visits the Mt Emei region regularly so is very familiar with the area.

The main thing to be aware of is that whilst carrying a backpack, people can steal things from the pack as you're walking along. So one has to place locks on the the zippers to prevent this from occurring.

I've also been advised to make sure all the food is cooked well. Don't eat anything undercooked. Though being a non-meat eater, this should be no big problem for me.

Earthquakes also can occur in the middle of China. If one starts worrying about all the little unexpected things that can happen on a trip however, probably one would stay in bed all day. :)

@Barry1
These days, I find that the current weather, day have spring, summer, autumn, winter, one week, there are spring, summer, autumn, winter month have spring, summer, autumn, winter.
Within a week,
If the have a few days, it is very hot weather,
In the following days, it will be very cool.
So you want to prepare several sets of clothes.
Sichuan occur occasionally some small earthquakes.
As long as you have the ability to survive in the wild.
I think this is not going to influence of your.
Far as possible a good hotels to the credibility, which is very important.
ALL GOOD LUCK!

@prana

Thanks very much for your good wishes, Prana.

My trip is only ten days away now so I am getting a little excited. My backpack is packed - the heaviest thing in it is my large laptop but there's nothing much I can do about this, as I don't own a small Ipad.

I am training hard every day, getting my body physically strong for all the hiking around the Emeishan region that I hope to do. I need to be able to run away from the monkeys that are found at the top of Mt Emei also in case the lady ones decide they like me. (giggle)

I believe a large Buddha statue carved out of rock somewhere is there also, the largest Buddha in fact in China. If I can locate this and send some blessings to Buddha, I am sure I shall in turn receive abundant propitious blessings in return.

Best wishes to you, sister. :)
