In the world of online Chinese and Asian dating there really is nothing quite like them. That's because the blogs are written by real Chinese or Asian women and real Western men, all members of CLM or ALM. The forum is for members to discuss serious cross- cultural issues, and problems relating to long distance international internet dating. But the blogs and forum are about more than that, much more, because we believe that the members' understanding of each other's diverse history, traditions, food, parenting beliefs, and cultural background are incredibly relevant in developing a strong and lasting mutual love. Likewise the sharing of mutual interests, such as travel, cooking, gardening, humour, modes of entertainment, hobbies, crafts, spiritual beliefs, and many other factors are crucial to maintaining a healthy bond. Unlike other dating sites who publish endless fluff that has no value beyond enticing people to join, at and we understand your desire is not simply to meet someone special today, but to join someone special for life. We keep it real, to ensure your newfound Chinese or Asian love lasts forever.

[Note: In case anyone is wondering how things our going for Yong eight months after our marriage, here is an essay she wrote for her ESL class about her life in the west so far....Peter]

Over on the Forum side of CLM, there's a wonderful thread that was written by Melcyan and it's called 'Don't Treat Me Better Than Dog'. Well, why not? The picture shown here is that of a woman in Fujian province who caught her boyfriend being unfaithful. Of course, it made national TV here in China.

What could be better than snuggling up on a couch and reading a good book at Christmas time? Well, I genuinely believe that there's nothing wrong with that picture. In truth, there have been times when I preferred being alone to giving up my solitude for anybody. However, times have changed, and I have certainly changed with age—for better or for worse, I can't really say. What I can truly say is that if I could, I would spend this holiday season in a more enjoyable setting.

Recently a new member posted a thread on the Forum in which he expressed concerns on a number of items, but specifically was concerned that he had messaged one member twice and so far not received a reply. He originally sent it as a letter to CLM, but we suggested he post a thread in order to get a broader range of responses. This blog is my in response to that thread, which you can find here:

So Yong wanted flowers. Usually this is one of her easier requests of her life in the West to fulfill. Certainly much easier than her request for “real” Chinese food, which requires a seventy-mile trip to Chicago’s Chinatown.

When Bob Dylan wrote 'The times they are a changin', I really don't think he knew how drastically they would.

Not too long ago we received a letter from a “member” of CLM complaining about behavior of his Chinese “wife”, also a member, while they were in the process of obtaining a visa for her to move to the USA to live with him. I admit that I might have had some sympathy for this person had his approach been different, but the approach basically set me off. I am interested in readers’ thoughts on how you might have handled the situation differently. Thanks for any comments.

Sex, the final frontier. These are the ramblings of Paul Fox. His continuing mission to seek out new truths and new facts. To boldly go where no blogger has gone before!

When you are dating Chinese women or Western men online, being able to video chat with them becomes essential at some point, both to assure yourself that she or he is the person they sya they are in their profile photos, and so you can spend time seriously getting to know each other.

60 Yr Old Teachers Banned in China
Barry1 has reported, based on reliable sources and backed by a recent Google search, that China is no longer allowing foreign English teachers to teach English in China if they are 60 years or older. This is bad news for many members of CLM who are already teaching English in China now, or are planning to in the near future, but who are 60 years old or nearing that mark.
