In the world of online Chinese and Asian dating there really is nothing quite like them. That's because the blogs are written by real Chinese or Asian women and real Western men, all members of CLM or ALM. The forum is for members to discuss serious cross- cultural issues, and problems relating to long distance international internet dating. But the blogs and forum are about more than that, much more, because we believe that the members' understanding of each other's diverse history, traditions, food, parenting beliefs, and cultural background are incredibly relevant in developing a strong and lasting mutual love. Likewise the sharing of mutual interests, such as travel, cooking, gardening, humour, modes of entertainment, hobbies, crafts, spiritual beliefs, and many other factors are crucial to maintaining a healthy bond. Unlike other dating sites who publish endless fluff that has no value beyond enticing people to join, at and we understand your desire is not simply to meet someone special today, but to join someone special for life. We keep it real, to ensure your newfound Chinese or Asian love lasts forever.

It goes without saying that anyone who is seriously interested in dating a Chinese woman ought to familiarize himself with the social reality of contemporary China. One of the starkest realities in the lives of Chinese women today involves a housing crisis. As a result of an ever-widening income gap, homeownership — and we are not even talking homes here but of people merely owning their own apartments — is now beyond the hope of the average working person. One of the most popular recent television dramas, Snail House (Wo Ju), powerfully dealt with this subject. Set in a fictional city resembling Shanghai, the drama focused on two sisters who became fangnu, or mortgage slaves, desperately struggling to pay their bills in a country where 85% of the population is priced out of the housing market. Recently, a music video by China’s pop singer Huang Zheng (黄征) dealing with this issue has taken the internet by storm. In less than a week since it was posted on the internet, the video of his new song “Sell” (卖) already had over 1.3 million views. Netizens called it “the most hopeless music video in the history.”
Now, I feel I am in my element with my last couple of articles dealing with my feelings toward China and ghosts. I feel it is time to share with you some of my knowledge of Chinese mythology and in particular the idea of the creation myth. The creation myths of the world carry many similarities. From the Norse creation of the world out of the body of the giant Ymer, to the Sumerians and the destruction of the goddess Tiamat.
People are CHI SEEN! They truly are CHI SIN! I have written on this before and it seems it needs to be said again. "Knowing someone for one month online only does not equate LOVE!" How many times must I hear from women who fall for men who profess their love to them after sharing a few messages? They have not even shared a web-cam chat. Where is the common sense in this world? Even if a date is set to actually meet face to face, does it make sense to commit to them before you have met? It is like buying shoes without trying them on to know if they fit! For the millionth time, people, "Spend some time with each other first and know for sure if you truly are compatible." I don't know if I keep meeting women on here who are completely new to dating websites or if they are just so needy or desperate to possess love of a foreigner that they are willing to blindly jump into the swimming pool without looking to see if there is any water in it first. Go back and read my first entry, Love At First Sight (Or Before First Flight) - A Myth!
In my last article I began to explore the idea of ghosts as seen through a Chinese perspective. When I began researching this idea I really had no idea how touchy it would be but as I dug deeper I found that it is a pretty taboo subject in China. As I looked through the web for material I came across many articles talking about a festival I’d never heard of called the Hungry Ghost Festival. If I understand correctly it should be coming up very soon in China. On the 15th day of the 7th lunar cycle an event very similar to what we westerners call Halloween occurs.
"Fantasy does create real life. I mean, think how many amateur "Lindsey Lohan in Prison" screenplays have been written in guys heads, and now its actually happening! Plus, maybe she really is going to be sent to GirlonGirlAction State Penitentiary, as my own story has it!" So spoke the Rajah to me over coffee at a Starbucks in Phuket, Thailand.
I’ve haven’t had much time on my hands lately but I have been researching one interesting topic as it relates to what I do in my spare time here in the states. I am an amateur ghost hunter, and I have been for nearly 7 years now. I began studying the Chinese view of ghosts after a conversation with a Chinese woman. She became terrified at what I do and didn’t want to hear anything about my hobby.
I am not sure if I can cover both marriage and divorce in this one blog entry but we will see. There was a question in the forum asking about the difference between divorce in the West versus divorce in the East which I think means China. Maybe before discussing the end of a marriage we should look at the beginning of a life together or marriage in the West versus the East from my perspective.
I told you Trudy’s story in Part I of Chinese Matchmaking: What’s in an Age? Now here are some of my personal experiences. I met one CLM member from Chongqing last year who posts her age as twenty-nine years old. After talking more on MSN Hotmail, she tells me she is actually forty-four. Not ten, but fifteen years older! I actually did meet her later in person when she came to Chengdu on business, so I did not waste any money like the CLM member flying from Japan to Chengdu. However, it is another true case in age deception at its very worse and she still advertises her age on CLM as thirty.
We at CLM aren’t the only ones worried about gold-digging Chinese women. The very popular Chinese dating show “If you are the one” (非诚勿扰), which Sarah Wang has blogged about for this site, had an incident recently which brought to the forefront the activity of women who prioritize the financial assets of a potential mate.
What’s in your age? Everything for starters. All of us, inside or outside, are who and what we are…plain and simple. This cannot be significantly changed unless you have the time and money to undergo expensive cosmetic or plastic surgery to alter your looks, but your age doesn’t change. I wouldn’t recommend going down this road unless you want to be some freaky grotesque creature like the late Michael Jackson. Oh my God! Did I just commit blasphemy by ridiculing MJ who almost has God-like status in China?
