In the world of online Chinese and Asian dating there really is nothing quite like them. That's because the blogs are written by real Chinese or Asian women and real Western men, all members of CLM or ALM. The forum is for members to discuss serious cross- cultural issues, and problems relating to long distance international internet dating. But the blogs and forum are about more than that, much more, because we believe that the members' understanding of each other's diverse history, traditions, food, parenting beliefs, and cultural background are incredibly relevant in developing a strong and lasting mutual love. Likewise the sharing of mutual interests, such as travel, cooking, gardening, humour, modes of entertainment, hobbies, crafts, spiritual beliefs, and many other factors are crucial to maintaining a healthy bond. Unlike other dating sites who publish endless fluff that has no value beyond enticing people to join, at and we understand your desire is not simply to meet someone special today, but to join someone special for life. We keep it real, to ensure your newfound Chinese or Asian love lasts forever.

If you read my previous blog , I pondered how to plan a wedding. Do I have something big and fancy? Possibly a traditional wedding in a chapel/church with many guests and a big reception party after? It could be wonderful, but very costly as well. Or do we decide to go with something simple like they do in China by going to City Hall (the local government office), pay the $100 and 20 minutes later, we are married. Simple, no fuss and all done. Yes, it is not so romantic, but economical. We can celebrate later in China. But then my fiancee sprung a new element upon me, "We need to choose an auspicious date for the wedding!" I shake my head in exasperation, "...Aiyaaaaah!"
Yes, romances come true. But what happens when they shatter and fall to pieces on the ground? Well, in that case it's all over but the crying. We are people, we are human. We are not programmed for graceful, easy endings. Machines do not grieve, as far as we know. They merely sit there, in their own shut off darkness, unblinking to the change. Indifferent to whether or not hands will touch them again, and whose hands they will be.
This is a letter we received a while back from one concerned and disappointed member, followed by our response. I'm posting it here because we'd like to receive any comments that will assist us in meeting these concerns by improving the website and also in helping members overcome them through their own efforts. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
I have been a member of CLM for 8 months now and as I stated in my previous post that I have met the cream of the crop as far as women go in the world. I may be biased on my opinion here because I have lived and breathed Asian culture most of my life, but I can’t help feeling like destiny played a hand in the way things have worked out for me since joining this international dating website. Perhaps it’s the dragon’s call I have written of magically pulling the strings of my life or perhaps it’s just very good luck caused by keeping and fostering good Karma.
Many foreign men are still under the assumption they are “In the driver’s seat” or have the “Upper edge” when it comes to finding marital bliss with a beautiful Chinese bride. Nothing can be further from the truth. Social changes and socio-economic relationship expectations in China are changing as quickly as the sands of the Gobi desert. What was acceptable in the recent past is not so now.
The images here were all delivered to me in some fashion, but I can't now remember how or who to credit them to. I just found them on my computer, amongst 10,000 other items that come from unknown sources, are saved for unknown reasons and remain there because I'm afraid to delete them and then remember the next day why I saved them in the first place. In this case I think I saved them long ago to share with everyone here on CLM and then simply forgot to do it. But why I didn't write down a credit at the time is also for reasons unknown. If anyone recognizes them and knows the source please advise and I'll correct my error. In any event, I hope you enjoy these as much as I did.
It happened a week ago that I went to Guilin with the folks in my village. Since everyone got the work and daily business, it is not easy to find a time to travel with the intimate ones. My time is not set in stone, so it is only a matter of will and mood. So there we went, to Guilin and Yangshuo in Guangxi province, and it is the 1st time for my sister and me to travel together.
Continuing the tale from Part 1... The second woman I met from the same website, I traveled to China to meet in person. This occurred in November 2008. I flew to Beijing where she was going to meet me. For those of you unfamiliar with the Beijing airport, there are two arrival terminals. A new terminal was built in preparation for the Olympics. I flew on Continental Airlines from the USA and I arrived at the old terminal. Meanwhile, the woman I was supposed to meet went to the new terminal. If you are flying to China for the first time, make sure you get a cell phone that you can use upon your arrival. This would have helped me in calling her and letting her know where I was. The second thing is to arrange for a hotel and to meet at your hotel.
I came across an interview from Chengdu magazine with a 23 y.o. woman from Chengdu who recently married and moved to her husband's hometown near Winchester, England, where she works as a teaching assistant for students with disabilities. Since many men on this dating site are at least contemplating asking a Chinese woman to relocate, it’s interesting to read how one who has recently moved out of China is handling the transition. Here’s the interview
They say one man's War of the Worlds Martian death ray black poison smoke blood drinking alien invasion is another mans opportunity to relax and have a good dinner. Well, I say it, anyhow; mostly because it brings to mind the lovely Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh. Also cause "Martian death ray" reminds me of a Really Unpleasant Date I once had....
